Emerge: Future Creators Art & Design Competition 2025

This is your chance to be recognised, exhibited, and celebrated at LCI Melbourne — one of Australia’s most unique art, design, fashion and business institutes.

We invite you to submit one original digital artwork that responds to the theme EMERGE — which means new beginnings, becoming, change, and creative expression.

🖼️ THE CATEGORIES

Choose one category to enter:

1. CAPTURE (Photography)

Capture something real. Something unfiltered. Submit one image that reveals a moment, feeling, or idea that’s just starting to take shape. Your photo should show potential—whether it’s in your subject, your technique, or your message. Think less about perfection, more about possibility.

🎯 This category is for students passionate about photography—film or digital—who want to express a powerful story or emotion through a single shot.

🖼 Task: Submit ONE original digital photograph that reflects something raw, real, or emerging.

2. DESIGN (Visual Design)

Design something bold and expressive that marks the start of your creative voice. Use typography, layout, colour, or visual language to say something about identity, movement, or change. Think of this as the visual start of something big.

🎯 This is for students who love graphic design, posters, zines, and digital illustration—and want to show how design can provoke, inspire, or shift perception.

🖼 Task: Create ONE digital visual communication piece that explores the theme of emergence.

3. CREATE (Visual Arts)

Create a visual artwork that explores an idea before it fully forms. Your piece might be abstract, figurative, sculptural, or experimental—but the focus is on transformation, growth, and the moment just before clarity.

🎯 This category is perfect for students exploring painting, drawing, mixed media, installation, or sculpture—who want to visually express potential and becoming.

🖼 Task: Submit ONE original digital artwork that captures a powerful idea in its early creative stage.

🏆 FINALISTS & PRIZES

• 12 Finalists (3 per category) will be announced at the EMERGE Opening Night
• Finalist work will be exhibited at LCI Melbourne throughout the EMERGE exhibition, scheduled from Monday 13 October to Friday 28 November 2025.
• All finalists will participate in a 1.5-hour creative workshop at LCI Melbourne.
• Each category winner will receive:
• A 20% scholarship toward an LCI Melbourne undergraduate course or Diploma (all finalists)
• A creative prize pack

Complete the form above and send to events@lcimelbourne.edu.au your entry which includes:

• Your full name
• Year level (if applicable)
• Secondary School (if applicable)
• Chosen category
• Artwork Title
• Artwork Description (50 words maximum)
• Parent Consent to Use your Portrait image and Artwork Image in promotional material for students under 18
• Submit your work in both high-res PNG and PDF formats
• All work must be your original creation and digital
