Neil Chenery

Graphic & Digital Design Coordinator

Program: Graphic & Digital Design

Neil Chenery is the co-ordinator of the Graphic & Digital Design program at LCI Melbourne. Neil has studied and worked in graphic design, visual arts, photography, illustration and interactive web design. Working with a number of small design companies and galleries in Australia and London, he has been fortunate to work on diverse and fascinating projects, exploring new technologies and developing a broad range of art and design styles and techniques.

Neil started professionally in the graphic design industry after completing a Bachelor Degree at Swinburne, working in several Melbourne studios which led to him forming a small design company in London with two colleagues. Years later he took on another Bachelor Degree at RMIT, this time in Fine Art, majoring in painting and printmaking, followed by several successful solo and group exhibitions in Australia and Japan. His work is held in private and corporate collections and is represented in regional galleries and the NGV.

Over the last decade and a half, Neil has been a creative director and designer based in a photography and interactive media studio Melbourne, working across web design, interface design and virtual tour design and programming for major car companies, hospitals, forensics departments and building companies. In 2015, he completed a Master of Visual Art at Monash University.

A significant highlight of developing these projects and exhibitions is meeting and working with the many talented artists, photographers, designers, teachers and clients who have influenced his work, challenged and encouraged him and maintained his love of creativity in its many forms.
