Overview
If you're drawn to fashion imagery, cultural trends, and the power of visual storytelling — and you want to turn that creative instinct into professional practice — the Online Diploma of Fashion Styling gives you the foundation to do exactly that. You'll explore styling, trend forecasting, design fundamentals, and digital communication, guided by educators with active industry experience.
About the Course
This diploma is built around the belief that effective fashion styling sits at the intersection of creativity, culture, and communication. Over one year, you'll progress through three trimesters — Identity, Empowerment, and Innovation — moving from foundational styling concepts through to more resolved, professional outcomes.
You'll learn through creative studio practice, research-driven projects, and industry-informed briefs that reflect real-world fashion contexts — editorial, digital media, and commercial styling. Alongside hands-on styling studios, you'll develop an understanding of fashion history, social trends, future contexts, and creative practice — all essential to working confidently within the contemporary fashion industry.
Online students have the same depth of learning experience as those on campus, with scheduled live sessions connecting you to your mentors and peers, flexible access to materials through iCampus, and optional use of LCI Melbourne's Collingwood facilities.
Successful completion of this diploma will also qualify you for credit towards the Bachelor of Design Arts with a major in Fashion & Costume Design at LCI Melbourne.
Opportunities
Getting a job is at the heart of the LCI Melbourne experience. Alongside your studies, you'll have genuine opportunities to build your professional network and your portfolio through industry projects, student exhibitions, and VIP events — the kind of real-world experience that makes a difference when you're ready to enter the workforce.
