Overview

A 6-week interior design short course delivered in three modules. Participants will explore sustainable interior practices through research, spatial planning, digital modelling, and visual storytelling to create a small-scale interior project from concept to presentation.

About the Course

This hands-on short course guides participants to explore sustainable interior design through spatial planning, biophilic thinking, and visual storytelling across three modules.
  • Module 1
    Concept Design for Sustainable Interiors
    • Explore biophilic principles and user needs
    • Analyse social, cultural, and environmental factors
    • Develop a design narrative and concept board

    Start Date: 13 September, 2025.

  • Module 2
    Spatial Planning and Circular Design
    • Plan spaces with human scale and functionality
    • Apply circular design and low-impact strategies
    • Produce floor plans and elevations with materials

    Start Date: 04 October, 2025.

  • Module 3
    Digital Modelling & Presentation
    • Create 3D models using SketchUp
    • Set up scenes and views for storytelling
    • Deliver a final design presentation

    Start Date: 25 October, 2025.

Admissions Criteria

No prerequisites.

All students enrolling in an LCI Melbourne short course are required to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI), as mandated by the Australian Government. If you do not have a USI, you can create one at www.usi.gov.au.

  • Open to domestic students only.

  • Students must be 18 years or older at the commencement of the course.

Timetable

All Short Courses are 36hrs in total run on Saturdays 9am to 4pm.
