Artists for a Day

  • January 20, 2026
  • 10:00 AMto 11:30 AM
  • 150 Oxford Street, Collingwood, 3066

High school students are invited to join Art Gallery of Ballarat’s Abbie Matthews for a creative studio-style workshop where you’ll explore drawing and painting using real objects, your imagination, and materials including watercolour, acrylic, pencil, charcoal and pastel. You’ll begin with quick warm-up activities and playful sketching to get you feeling comfortable, confident and ready to create.

Through guided observation and hands-on making, you’ll produce a series of artworks while learning how artists see, think and experiment. Designed especially for high school students, this workshop is relaxed, pressure-free and all about building confidence, creativity and personal expression, no experience or utensils needed, just curiosity and a go-for-it attitude.

All materials will be provided by LCI Melbourne.
