Ever wondered what an interior designer really does?
This workshop gives high school students a behind-the-scenes look at the world of interior design and how it’s different from other creative careers. You’ll get hands-on experience, like learning how to read a floor plan and creating your own concept board for an interior space, while exploring the many career pathways available in the field.
It’s your chance to:
- Discover what interior designers actually do day-to-day
- Try out real design activities used in the industry
- Explore career opportunities in interior design and related fields
- Ask questions and get tips from professionals
Whether you’re already passionate about design or just curious to see if it could be the right path for you, this workshop is the perfect way to test your skills, get creative, and imagine yourself in a future design career.
This workshop is suitable for Year 10–12 students No equipment required, LCI Melbourne will supply all materials.
Meet Your Mentor
Catherine Le is a multidisciplinary interior designer and recent graduate of LCI Melbourne. She has a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in Japanese Studies and Psychology, and Bachelor of Secondary Education (Honours) at Monash University, as well as a Bachelor of Design Arts with a major in Interior Design at LCI Melbourne. Currently working in a small Melbourne-based architecture firm, she is primarily designing interiors of residential homes with a particular focus on translating technical drawings into visual representations through 3D modelling and realistic rendering of the interiors and exteriors of residential homes and unit developments.
