LCI Melbourne welcomed the Matildas and Socceroos on-campus, for an evening of sport and art that celebrates ‘playing different’

Claude Marchand, President and CEO of LCI Education, highlighted the partnership's broader vision: “Education and sport, together, hold incredible potential for shaping tomorrow’s leaders. This collaboration represents our shared values of commitment, perseverance, and teamwork.”
Embodying these values to engage guests in sport and art, the event showcased LCI Melbourne’s creative thinking, students’ artistic expression, and their interactions with guests’ athletic prowess! Guests participated in the GenArt Soccer Activation, where a collective goal-scoring challenge invited them to kick ‘paint bombs’ onto a virtual canvas, using VR technology.
Other highlights included the live collaborative art display crafted by LCI Melbourne students, plus panel discussions with Matildas and Socceroos players, on leadership and challenging conventions. Students also heard of a special opportunity to work for Football Australia, in the exciting announcement of a new internship program.
This event was about celebrating more than a partnership; it was about acknowledging the need for collaboration beyond the conventional, bridging distinct industries to drive first-of-its-kind ideas and solutions. We see this as a bold step in redefining archetypal boundaries — symbolic of our commitment to innovation in a world that moves faster than traditional education, and the success of our students in modern society.
As we welcome this era of boundless creativity, we invite you to join us in embracing uncharted territory with optimism. Stay tuned to see what’s created when players, students, staff and guests come together to ‘play different’.
