LCI Melbourne Graduation Ceremony 2025: A Night to Remember

On Tuesday 1 April, the grand Collingwood Town Hall played host to the final chapter in our Season of Excellence—the 2025 LCI Melbourne Graduation Ceremony.

With families, friends, academic staff, and industry leaders gathered to mark the occasion, the evening honoured the accomplishments, resilience, and creativity of our graduating cohort from across all disciplines in the Bachelor and Associate Degree of Design Arts.

The ceremony opened with a heartfelt Acknowledgment of Country by Adriano Di Prato, Campus Director and Master of Ceremonies, followed by inspiring addresses from Professor Warren Bebbington AM, Chair of the Board of Directors, and Dr. Jason Dewling, Executive Vice President of LCI Education.

One of the most moving moments of the evening came during the Graduate Address, delivered by Alexandra Pennell, who graduated with distinction in Fashion & Costume Design.

“What’s clear to me, and I think to all of us, is that we built something much bigger than deadlines and assignments. We built a sense of community—a support system of fellow artists, designers, friends, and mentors who were there for us every step of the way.” — Alexandra Pennell, Graduate Speaker

From acknowledging the small moments that defined their student experience to expressing gratitude to mentors, families, and peers, Alexandra’s words echoed the collective heart of the graduating class.

The evening also included a captivating keynote address by Estelle Michaelides, creative director of Saint Stella M, who encouraged graduates to lead with authenticity, emotion, and artistry in all they do.

Special awards were presented to outstanding graduates in recognition of academic excellence, leadership, and community contribution—including the prestigious Student Par Excellence Award, presented to Sarah Smith for achieving the highest academic results across all units.

In his closing remarks, Adriano Di Prato reminded graduates that they now carry more than a degree—they carry a responsibility to see the world with fresh eyes and create with boldness and intent:

“Today, you do not merely graduate—you launch. The world is now your canvas. Paint boldly. Create fearlessly. And never stop seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary.”
