This programme gives academic staff the chance to experience short-term international placements, sharing ideas and approaches that enrich teaching and learning across our network.
LCI Melbourne is proud to lead the very first exchange in partnership with LaSalle College Vancouver. After a competitive selection process, Gretchen Geoghegan has been chosen as the inaugural participant and will head to Vancouver in January 2026.
Gretchen joined LCI Melbourne in 2024 and teaches across the Bachelor of Design Arts, specialising in Fashion & Costume Design and the Bachelor of Business & Innovation.
Her career spans Australia, China, and the UK, with expertise in design operations, global supply chains, and industry engagement. Known for blending real-world practice with student-centred learning, Gretchen has helped deliver exhibitions, runway shows, and industry collaborations that prepare students for success.
During her two-week exchange, Gretchen will guest lecture, collaborate with faculty, and explore new ideas to bring back to Melbourne, ensuring our students benefit from fresh global perspectives and innovative teaching approaches.
This pilot marks the beginning of an annual mobility programme across the LCI network, creating opportunities for academics worldwide to share knowledge and strengthen connections. For students, it means even more access to international insights, creative thinking, and industry-relevant experiences.
Congratulations to Gretchen for leading this exciting new chapter. At LCI Melbourne, the world truly is your classroom and we can’t wait to see where it takes you.
